The RF to Light 100 closed +0.4% in the first week of 2007. Following companies dropped out of the Index: Bell South (acquired by AT&T), Freescale (acquired by a private group), Lucent (acquired by Alcatel), Broadwing (acquired by Level 3 Comm., HEI (market cap value is < $ 100M) and IBM sold their laptop business to Lenovo. They were replaced by: Alltel (AT), MEMC Electrical Materials (WFR), 3Com (COMS), Level 3 Comm. (LVLT), American Towers (AMT) and Crown Castle International (CCI). American towers and Crown Castle own base station towers.   

In the news: Strong US job growth report jolted market last Friday while commodity prices fell. Many technology stocks bucked the trend. Motorola dropped 8% on lower 4Q06 forecast, dragging down Nokia.
