The 2007 Topical Meeting on Silicon Monolithic Integrated Circuits in RF Systems (SiRF) is a unique conference that covers a broad spectrum of topics that are all related to Si-based RF systems, directly or indirectly. The topics range all the way from materials and devices, passive or active, to integrated circuits and applications for RF systems that are all based on Si. This feature provides a precious opportunity for attendees to view this fast-evolving field from various standpoints and also offers a space for exchanging ideas between diverse research areas. Such cross-mingling will be additionally supported by the single-session format that has been a tradition of this conference. The popular best student paper competition will add excitement to the conference and the banquet will provide a casual stage for social interaction between attendants. Since its inaugural meeting in 1998, when RF systems based on Si technologies were relatively rare, SiRF has contributed to 'mainstreaming' Si-based RF systems. This year's conference will provide a snapshot on where this fast-growing field is headed.
