Antenova Ltd. has acquired the RF design engineering team from a US-based developer of advanced RF power amplifiers for mobile handsets. The team will be housed in a new Design and Support Center in the Chicago area in the first quarter of 2007 and will complement the company’s North American sales organization already established in California and Texas.

The initiative is a major advance in the company’s aggressive expansion from delivering embedded antennas to providing integrated radio antenna modules for the mobile device markets. Its RADIONOVA® product line not only includes a stable, high performing, multiband platform antenna, but also the radio components optimized and integrated into a single package that lowers the overall OEM development costs while improving radio and antenna performance with lower power consumption.

Simon Kingsley, a chief scientist at Antenova, commented, “We have spent a lot of time looking all over the world for an experienced team of RF designers to complement our leading antenna design teams. We are very impressed with the capabilities of these engineers and scientists, and particularly their insight into optimizing RF circuits with antennas.”

Greg McCray, the company’s CEO, stated, "The addition of this highly experienced RF design team enables Antenova to accelerate the development of our full range of RADIONOVA integrated radio antenna modules for mobile devices and underpins our strategy for moving up the RF component value chain. Our OEM and ODM customers have been very interested in our progress, and have been providing input and direction into our development program. Having this RF expertise in-house allows us to move forward and complete the RF integration with the antenna and get modules into the market more quickly.”
