Smartphone manufacturers are introducing full-screen handsets with an 18:9 screen aspect ratio. The form factor hurts antenna performance, which reduces antenna space, leads to shorter battery life, poorer connectivity and lower data rates. To compensate, increased performance is required from the RF front-end to compensate for antenna performance and maintain total radiated power and receive sensitivity.
