Compound foundry WIN Semiconductors reported Q1 2017 net revenue of NT$3,271 million, or $106.8 million, which was an increase of 1.9 percent compared to Q4 of 2016 and a slight decrease of 0.5 percent compared to Q1 of 2016.

March revenue was strong: NT$1,182 million, or $38.6 million, a sequential increase of 17.6 percent and 6.0 percent above March 2016.

Of the total Q1 revenue, the portion from compound semiconductors was NT$3,155 million, or $103 million, an increase of 1.8 percent quarter-over-quarter and a decline of 4.0 percent year-over-year.

WIN Semiconductors, founded in 1999, is the largest pure-play compound semiconductor foundry, offering GaAs HBT, pHEMT, BiHEMT and GaN process technologies. In Q4 of 2016, the cellular handset and Wi-Fi markets generated over 80 percent of the company’s revenue.
