To support the increasing investment in the satellite market, Custom MMIC is highlighting the company’s space qualification capabilities for high performance GaAs MMICs. Customers seeking high reliability (measured in MTTF and FITs) and 100 percent electrical test and visual inspection can turn to Custom MMIC.
Over 70 commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) MMIC die products provided by Custom MMIC can be qualified to MIL-PRF-38534 Class K or packaged, hermetically sealed and qualified per MIL-PRF-38535 Class S. The space qualification elemental evaluation is either performed internally by Custom MMIC or by trusted sub-contractors.
Custom MMIC can develop and qualify a custom solution, if the customer requires.
Several of Custom MMIC’s products have undergone the rigorous high level visual inspection, burn-in, 1000 hour life test, 100 percent elemental electrical testing and wafer lot qualification. As one example of space heritage, the CMD162 Ka-Band LNA has completed Class K qualification and was launched in a major communications broadband satellite in 2015.
