ThinkRF announced the release of the new ThinkRF R5500 Real-Time Spectrum Analyzer, the latest product from one of the leading providers of advanced radio frequency test and measurement instruments.

Headless, networked and highly optimizable, the R5500 analyzer provides the power of traditional lab spectrum analyzers at a fraction of the cost or size. Featuring a frequency range of 9 kHz up to 27 GHz and real-time bandwidths of 10 MHz, 40 MHz or 100 MHz, the R5500 analyzer is a high performance RF test instrument that is compact and cost-effective enough to be used in a variety of critical applications, including wireless spectrum monitoring, 5G deployment, RF signal analysis, wireless standards research, device manufacturing test, and product development.

“We’re extremely proud of what we’ve accomplished with the R5500,” said Dr. Nikhil Adnani, chief technology officer at ThinkRF. “We really pushed hard to get faster RF scan rates, increased data throughput and enhanced RF front-end performance; three things the market was asking for, into this release. We’re confident the combination of power and cost-effectiveness the R5500 analyzer brings is really going to resonate with our customers.”

“This is just another example of how ThinkRF can provide advanced capabilities to the RF and wireless test market,” said Jim Roche, newly appointed CEO of ThinkRF. “Our team has been incredible in designing and building the R5500 analyzer, along with the newly released S240 software, to provide a complete, high-performance real-time spectrum analysis solution to users.”

The R5500 analyzer will feature a sweep rate of 28 GHz/s that dramatically increases the ability to capture elusive signals, as well as a streaming rate of 360 Mbit/s to enable real-time demodulation. Additional features include significantly improved noise floor performance, extended frequency coverage down to 9 kHz, and the ability to pair the R5500 analyzer with a third-party digitizer for applications that require wider real-time bandwidth up to 160 MHz.
