1.2 GHz/550 MHz Dual Fractional-N PLL IC
The model PE3292 phase-locked loop (PLL) IC (part of the company's FlexiPower series) designed for frequency synthesis is fabricated in the company's patented UTSi® CMOS process. Each PLL includes a FlexiPower prescaler, phase detector, charge pump and onboard fractional spur compensation. The prescalers are supplied power on dedicated pins and can operate at a power savings at voltages as low as 1 V while allowing a 3 V charge pump supply. For 3 V only systems, onboard voltage regulation can be used to generate the prescaler power supplies. The 32/33 RF prescaler (PLL1) operates up to 1.2 GHz and the 16/17 IF prescaler (PLL2) operates up to 550 MHz. The IC provides fractional-N division with power-of-two denominator values up to 32, allowing comparison frequencies up to 32-times the channels spacing (which provides a lower phase noise floor than integer PLLs).

5.8 GHz Reflective Transponder
The model CHR2242 5.8 GHz reflective transponder is dedicated to short-range communication applications and is available in a plastic package. Features include an ultra-low standby current and CMOS-compatible inputs/outputs. An application board is available to evaluate the transponder rapidly. The unit can also be used in road pricing systems, remote identification and factory production control systems in wireless mode.

DC/DC Converter/Switching Regulator ICs
The TK651xx series DC/DC converter/switching regulator ICs provide reduced EMI filtering and shielding while maintaining the high efficiency of a CMOS design. The units operate from either single- or dual-cell supplies, providing regulated 2.7, 3.0 and 3.3 V outputs with a startup voltage of 0.9 V. The output voltage is monitored by an internal comparator and provides a reset signal if the output falls below a specified minimum level. Available in a small SOT-23L surface-mount package, the ICs provide up to 30 mA output current in single-cell applications. Price: starts at 89¢ (1000).

3 V RF Receiver IC
The model TQ5121 3 V RF receiver IC integrates a GaAs MESFET RF LNA, buffered LO input, GaAs MESFET mixer and IF output amplifier in a single, small RFIC. The unit features a conversion gain of 17.5 dB (typ), noise figure of 2.7 dB, input IP3 of -8.5 dBm (min) and operating temperature range of -40° to +85°C. This performance is achieved with a single operating voltage of +2.8 to +3.6 V and 10 mA of current. The unit is supplied in a 16-pin, QSOP-16 package and includes an internal 50 W input match that minimizes PCB area. Price: $2.69 (1000).
