Point-to-point Ku-band Synthesizers
The MTS-1500 series permanent magnet, YIG-based frequency synthesizers are designed to meet the demands of high data rate, complex modulation-based point-to-point and point-to-multipoint systems. The units offer noise reduction for 16-, 64-, 128- and 256-quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) schemes and provide greater spectral efficiency and higher data rates. With fundamental frequency coverage from 4 to 12 GHz in 1 GHz bandwidths, designers can move from frequency-shift keying to quadrature phase-shift keying (QPSK) and up to QAM modulation schemes using a single, high quality source. The synthesizers combine low noise, broadband frequency coverage and power-efficient performance in a small package. Price: $400 to $700, depending on custom modification and quantity.

1930 - 1990 MHz VCO
The model V624ME01 VCO is designed for use in the PCS base station market at frequencies between 1930 to 1990 MHz. The VCO features 1.5 to 8 V DC of control voltage and an average tuning sensitivity of 20 MHz/V. The oscillator provides a signal of –107 dBc/Hz (typ) at 10 kHz from the carrier while attenuating the second harmonic to better than –10 dBc. The unit pulls less than 5 MHz from a 14 dB return loss (any phase) and pushes less than 2 MHz/V within a five percent change of the nominal supply voltage. The oscillator features a 1.1:1 linearity over frequency and temperature and operates off of an 8 V DC bias while drawing only 21 mA (typ). The VCO provides 5 +/-3 dBm of output power into a 50 W load and can handle any outdoor environment by operating over the commercial temperature range of –10° to +85°C. Price: $15 each (1000).
