RFMW, Ltd. announces design and sales support for Peregrine Semiconductor’s new, adjustable power limiter providing protection for up to 50 W pulsed RF input. For CW applications, the PE45140 handles up to 10 W of power. The adjustable power limiting threshold, from +22 to +32 dBm, enables flexibility across different platforms and architectures. Peregrine’s UltraCMOS, monolithic solution is 8 X smaller than comparable GaAs PIN diode solutions and no external components are required. The PE45140 maintains a 64 dBm IIP3 for high linearity applications in LMR and public safety radios. Receiver protection in SDR tactical radios averts damage from intentional jammers or ESD strikes with an ESD HBM of 8000 volts. The Peregrine Semiconductor PE45140 offers instantaneous protection and rapid return that’s more 10x faster than PIN diode limiter designs.
