CDMA Pilot Scanner
The Scout series pilot scanner surveys all CDMA pilot channel signals and reports their power delay profile in real time. The power delay profile represents the base station pilot power from both direct and multipath signals from all base stations and indicates the distribution of pilot power vs. delay. The unit measures pilot strength (Ec in dBm), noise (Io in dBm) and Ec /Io for all direct and multipath pilot signals. The scanner features custom highly pipelined hardware for fast real-time measurements and is packaged in a mobile case for field measurements.

RF Peak Power Meter
The model 4400A RF peak power meter performs highly accurate time-domain measurements over the 1 MHz to 40 GHz frequency range. The unit features a peak power dynamic range of greater than 60 dB without any range changes and performs pulse measurements from –40 to +20 dBm, and CW measurements from –50 to +20 dBm with 0.1 dB resolution. The unit uses a random repetitive sampling system to perform waveform averaging continually from 1 to 10,000 samples per data point. The continuous signal processing allows for pre- and post-trigger analyses.

Circuit Board Tester
The model 0601 circuit board tester is the latest in a series of noninvasive dielectrometers for measurement of DK and DF in circuit board materials and thin dielectric sheets. The tester provides a fast measurement of in-plane parameters with good repeatability and can be used with a scalar analyzer. The unit features a two-octave operating bandwidth from 1 to 4 GHz. The first resonance is 1 GHz in the middle of the bands used for cellular phone, PCS and Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) communications. Other models are available for operation up to 17 GHz.

500 MHz Combination Analyzer
The model HP 4395A 500 MHz combination analyzer provides network, spectrum and optional impedance-measurement functions in a single instrument and reduces test costs without compromising performance. For vector network analysis, the high accuracy of ±0.05 dB, ±0.3° and wide dynamic range of greater than 110 dB ensure quality test results. Fast measurement speed allows engineers to tune components and view test results in real time. For spectrum analysis, the unit’s digital signal processing techniques improve amplitude accuracy and sweep speed. Price: starts at $26,500.

Proactive Network Analyzers
The NetForce series browser-based network analyzers interactively anticipate, identify, and propose solutions to network availability and response time problems before they occur. Designed to maximize the up-time of switched and virtual networks for both the local area and wide area, the analyzers consist of a central platform running on a Java-enabled workstation and sensors distributed throughout a network near end users. The sensors detect problems such as changes in network topology and common network anomalies. Upon receiving the problem data and corresponding decision-support information, the workstation alerts the user of the problem via a pager, e-mail or through a browser-based user interface.
