Using Calibration to Optimize Performance in Crucial Measurements
Radio Frequency Systems (RFS), the global wireless and broadcast infrastructure specialist, announced the addition of new 3ft options to its portfolio of CompactLine® EASY microwave antennas that will enable customers to better overcome the challenges of microwave backhaul and ultimately reduce TCO. Engineered to provide high performance in a light, compact, easy-to-deploy package, the new SC3/SCX3 series CompactLine EASY microwave antennas are more than 20 percent lighter than competing products on the market.
The newly-released 3ft antennas are available in single-polarized configurations, the SC3 series, and dual-polarized configurations, the SCX3 series, for 6 GHz to 25 GHz frequencies and include three wideband models. Additionally, CompactLine EASY microwave antennas provide best-in-class radiation patterns that reduce interference and enable easier configuration as part of complete network deployment. These options are designed to make it even simpler to select the right antenna for any network deployment or upgrade.
“RFS’ SC3/SCX3 series CompactLine EASY microwave antennas give network providers more choice in how they design, build out and upgrade their networks to meet the ever-changing demands of subscribers for high performance applications,” said Asad Zoberi, area product manager for RFS’ Radio Link Networks product line. “Their low-profile, deep dish reflector design and compact mount makes them easy to deploy and results in a very low weight configuration. This innovative structural design minimizes materials without sacrificing mechanical stability, which makes the antennas ideal for deployments where zoning restrictions and tower loading are key considerations.”
The new additions to the CompactLine EASY antenna family are ideally suited for direct mount applications with radios from leading microwave radio manufacturers. This compact design results in a reduced packaging volume that lowers transportation costs and requires 20 percent less effort for installation compared to competitive options. They can be easily upgraded from single to dual polarization in the field and are future-ready for in-field frequency changes when required.
The robust, durable design of the 3ft CompactLine EASY antennas also makes them easy to maintain. They are built to survive wind speeds of up to 155 mph without a side strut, and they have been wind tunnel tested to ensure they can withstand and remain operational in extreme conditions. The single-polarized SC3 series and dual-polarized SCX3 series of 3ft CompactLine EASY antennas are compliant with current FCC and Industry Canada microwave standards.
