Dover announced a plan to spin off certain DCT operating companies into a standalone publicly traded company named Knowles Corp. This decision resulted in the split of several business units currently centralized under the Ceramic and Microwave Products (CMP) operating company. While the capacitor companies Dielectric Laboratories (DLI), Novacap, Syfer, and Voltronics will be part of the spinoff, the microwave companies BSC Filters, Dow-Key, K&L, and Pole/Zero will remain with Dover, forming the Microwave Products Group (MPG).
Michael P. Busse, currently the vice president & general manager of DLI, has accepted the position of vice president of business development for MPG, effective January 17, 2014. In this new and exciting role, Busse will be directly involved with new business development and the identification and targeting of potential new markets for all of MPG.
Busse has extensive senior-level experience in the microwave industry. He began his career in 1968 as the thirteenth employee at Anaren Microwave and advanced through a series of progressively responsible positions. Thirteen years later, Busse joined Communication Techniques as vice president and general manager, assisting with its acquisition by Dover shortly thereafter. Next, he founded Microwave Systems as CEO, selling it ten years later. Busse joined sister companies Creative Electric and Andersen Laboratories as executive vice president in 1993 and was promoted to president and CEO after one year. With the sale of Creative and Andersen, Busse founded consulting firm Strategic Alliance Associates, serving DLI as a client. He became director of sales and marketing for DLI in 2001. Busse was promoted to vice president of sales and marketing in 2002, to vice president and plant manager in 2005, and to his present leadership role later that same year.
