KRYTAR’s new directional coupler offers some of lowest frequency coupler with stripline designs on the market. Stripline designs offer superior low insertion loss, high directivity and tight coupling. The new directional coupler lends itself to emerging wireless ultra-broadband designs and many test and measurement applications. These couplers can also be manufactured to meet military specifications. Targeting broadband electronic warfare (EW) systems and complex switch-matrix applications, for example, KRYTAR has used its proprietary designs to produce a wide assortment of directional couplers with ultra-high performance over a broadband frequency range.
KRYTAR’s new directional coupler, Model 158006, offers the widest frequency coverage in a single package on the market and provides superior performance. KRYTAR’s technological advances provide excellent operating performance of this new stripline design unit. Model 158006 covers the frequency range from 0.5 to 8.0 GHz with 6 dB (±1.1 dB) of Nominal Coupling (with respect to output) and Frequency Sensitivity of ±0.6 dB. Directivity is >15 dB. The coupler exhibits Insertion Loss of <1.70 dB across the full frequency range including coupled power. Maximum VSWR at any port is 1.70 GHz.
The directional coupler is a compact package measuring just 5.25 inches (L) x 0.53 inches (W) x 0.72 inches (H). With the standard SMA female, or optional SMA male, connectors the coupler weighs only 3.8 ounces. With the optional “N” type female connectors the coupler weighs just 5.7 ounces.
