NEL Frequency Controls Inc. announced the release of a new reduced height profile option for its ultra low phase noise OCXO at 100 MHz. The O-CIH-X Series is now available with 0.4’’ (10.2 mm) height profile in addition to the 0.5” (12.7 mm) original model. This OCXO offers superior close-in phase noise of -105 dBc/Hz and -185 dBc/Hz phase noise on the floor. The O-CIH-X comes in a small, compact form factor with dimensions of 1” x 1” (25 x 25 mm) and consumes significantly less power than alternative solutions. The O-CIH-X Series is a Commercial Grade/Dual Use product offering.
“Many customers need the low phase noise of our 100 MHz OCXO’s but have limited height requirements,” notes Roman Boroditsky, technology director at NEL Frequency Controls. "Any application that requires instrument grade OCXO performance in a compact package would benefit from this new product.”
The O-CIH-X features an SC-cut crystal and a frequency range of 80 to 120 MHz. Stabilities range from ±50 ppb with temperatures of -40° to 75°C. The Ultra Low Phase Noise oscillator has a Sine wave +17 dBm output. Ideal for telecommunication systems, synthesizers, GPS, radar and instrumentation applications, it is available in 5 V and 12 V.
