Synergy Microwave introduced standard free running DROs operating at X-Band. Thermal Power Sensor
The R&S NRP-Z58 is the first power sensor that covers the frequency range continuously from DC to 110 GHz. The sensor’s high speed of over 300 measurements per second in buffered mode allows especially fast power measurements, in addition to offering the largest dynamic range (55 dB). It can be connected directly to a PC via a USB interface, the R&S NRP2 base unit or be used with nearly any generator or analyzer from Rohde & Schwarz.
The new R&S BBA 150 broadband amplifier enables EMC testing in the microwave range. These compact, lightweight amplifiers with their state-of-the-art design are optimized for high frequencies starting at 0.8 GHz. The first model in the R&S BBA150 family covers the 0.8 to 3 GHz frequency band and is available with an output power ranging from 30 to 200 W. The modular concept protects customer investments and makes it possible to extend the amplifier’s power and frequency range.
Handheld Spectrum Analyzers
The R&S FSH family of handheld spectrum analyzers has been extended with two new models: the R&S FSH13 covering the range from 9 kHz to 13.6 GHz and the R&S FSH20 covering the range to 20 GHz. Vector Signal Generator
With the R&S SMBV100A signal generator, manufacturers of WLAN IEEE 802.11ac chipsets, components and devices can now easily generate signals up to 160 MHz bandwidth. The R&S SMBV100A is also the only signal generator directly supporting high-speed modes for WLAN IEEE 802.11ac. An external PC is not needed. In the 5 GHz ISM band, the R&S SMBV100A offers exceptional signal performance (0.44 percent EVM) for 160 MHz signals.
RF and Microwave Signal Generator
New harmonic filter options are now offered for the R&S SMB100A microwave signal generator. These filters make it possible to achieve a harmonic suppression of more than -50 dBc over a wide frequency range (150 MHz to 40 GHz), or at frequencies below 3 GHz up to -58 dBc, improving the signal quality of the signal generator and consequently the measurement accuracy.
Compliance Testing Amplifiers
MITEQ’s new TTA series are high performance broadband low noise amplifiers specially developed for electromagnetic (EMC) compliance testing. Complete frequency coverage from 1 MHz to 40 GHz is possible with three separate TTA amplifiers. They are enclosed in a small (5.1" × 3.5" × 1.9") lightweight EMI/RFI case and can be used easily in the EMC test setup. A universal wall plug-in power supply is included with each TTA which operates from 50 to 60 Hz/100 to 240 VAC.
TRUcore™ series cable assemblies offer a new level of RF and microwave performance combined with superior mechanical and environmental durability. Keragis Corp. has a new 1000 W (KHPA0811-1000 WPA) pulsed X-Band amplifier in a small package. The package size is approximately 8" × 6.5" × 2.75" (not including heat sinks). The unit is all solid-state and can provide up to 20 percent duty cycle. The unit is ideal for radar applications from 8 to 11 GHz.

Z-Communications Inc. announces a new RoHS compliant VCO model USSP1325-LF in the L-Band. This VCO operates at 1250 to 1400 MHz with a tuning voltage range of 0.5 to 4.5 V DC. This miniaturized VCO features phase noise of -100 dBc/Hz at 10 kHz offset while operating off a 5 V DC supply and typically drawing only 25 mA of current.
Microwave Electronics Corp. of America
MECA announced the launch of a new line of unequal power splitters or tappers, developed to unevenly split high power signals for in-building DAS applications and designs. The line consists of six models offering a 2, 3, 4, 6, 8 or 10:1 signal-split ratio respectively, over 698 to 2700 MHz (cellular, PCS, AWS, and BRS/EBS frequencies) and feature low PIM ratings (-155 dBc typical), with ultra-low VSWR and minimal coupling variation over the entire frequency band. Switch Filter Bank
Lark Engineering is proud to announce its latest ultra-thin product offering. With a maximum height of 0.09", the ultra-thin, switch filter bank (SFB) is surface mountable and designed for commercial and military applications. AMC designed and manufactured a highly complex electronic warfare test station. AMC supplied 8 high and 8 low band direction finding assemblies (for signal tracking) plus a high band and low band calibration assembly – a total of 18 separate rack mounted chassis. The units consist of 14 stages of switched delay line “blocks” mounted on a center web that is installed in a 2U height rack mounted chassis with filter banks, switches, attenuators, power dividers and phase shifters.

Oven Controlled Crystal Oscillators
Model 148 is an ultra low power shock resistant miniature OCXO. It has very low power consumption of less than 0.23 W. Its mechanical construction enables durability of up to 500 G of mechanical shock. Its SC cut crystal is housed inside a TO-8 vacuum package and is DIL-8 compatible, thus reducing its weight, power consumption and warm-up time (60 seconds). The part is highly stable with phase noise as low as -166 dBc/Hz floor at 10 MHz.
Model 122 is an ultra-high stability OCXO. The oscillator utilizes the doubleoven and IHR technologies to provide less than 1 W power consumption. It is also capable of holding high frequency stability to ±0.2 ppb over -10º to +60ºC and ±0.2 ppb/day aging (for 10 MHz). The device is housed in a 20 × 20 mm packaging. Frequencies are available from 8 to 100 MHz. Typical applications for this part include rubidium standard replacement, GPS disciplined frequency standards, instrumentation and communication systems.

Unlike competing transistors, M/A-COM’s GaN in plastic boasts high power and gain, allowing customers to reduce the number of stages in the cascade of amplifiers, resulting in extremely high power. Available as 15, 50 and 90 W transistors, these devices are ideal for customers looking for a high power, lightweight, cost effective and small solution.
The 26.5 and 43 GHz models of the MS2830A signal analyzer/spectrum analyzer will be displayed by Anritsu Co. at IMS 2013 (Booth 938). Frequency coverage can be extended to 110 GHz on both models with an external mixer. Providing high-end performance at economical prices, the instruments have high-speed sweeping capability and 159 dB dynamic range (at 26.5 GHz). A vector signal analysis function allows the MS2830A to pinpoint phenomena missed by sweep spectrum analyzers.
Anritsu will exhibit its VectorStar® ME7838A mm-wave VNA system with real-time power leveling, as well as best-in-class stability with the widest power level control. The mm-wave system detects IF and RF power and provides correction to the mm-wave power in real time and without the need for software correction feedback. The method delivers stable mm-wave power even at low levels and reduces the risk of overdriving power-sensitive mm-wave devices.

SAW Clock Oscillator
Crystek Crystals announces the release of a 250 to 1090 MHz surface acoustic wave (SAW) clock oscillator (in single frequency band), the CCSO-914X. Crystek designed the module using proprietary circuitry and SAW resonator technology to provide ultra-low jitter/phase noise performance with true SineWave output. The resulting oscillator (250 MHz variant) features -153 dBc/Hz phase noise at 10 KHz offset and a noise floor of -173 dBc/Hz. It has been verified with Analog Devices’ AD9467 – a 16-bit, monolithic, IF sampling ADC.
Tahoe RF Semiconductor Inc.
TRFS15013 is an integrated GPS/GNSS receiver/digitizer that provides simultaneous reception of both upper and lower GPS/GNSS bands. A high dynamic range (60 dB, 12 bit) mode and a low resolution low power (3 bit output) modes are supported. The part is programmed using a three wire SPI. Available in a 72-pin QFN. Key specifications: 75 dB gain, -17 dBm IIP3, 7 dB NF, 4 pS jitter. It can be used for surveying, agriculture, avionics, telematics or other high performance applications.
Delta Electronics Manufacturing
Delta Electronics Manufacturing has developed a new spring loaded SMP F-F “bullet” adapter. Currently available in three different lengths, 0.375 (0.300 compressed), 0.675 (0.600 compressed), and 1.075 (1.00 compressed). Designed in accordance with Mil-STD-348, all three models feature a six slot “low insertion” SMP female interface on one side and a four slot SMP female interface on the other. The compression load on the interfaces enable these “bullets” to achieve consistent VSWR, even at higher frequencies.
Measurement and Modeling Solutions
Maury Microwave will be demonstrating state-of-the-art measurement and modeling solutions including: a patent-pending noise parameter system, a pulsed IV/S-Parameter and compact modeling system, a hybrid-active harmonic loadpull solution based on the PNA-X, and a patented mixed-signal active loadpull system capable of up to 1000 impedance/power measurements per minute and 120 MHz of instantaneous impedance control. High Power Circulators
CT-849-D is one of a series of 2 KW CW circulators that cover 75 to 125 MHz with 5 percent minimum bandwidths. Peak power options are also available. Typical applications are medical, scientific and FM transmitters. Operating at 80 MHz, the unit provides 20 dB minimum isolation with less than 0.3 dB loss and 1.25 maximum VSWR. This unique hybrid approach maximizes power handling, while minimizing insertion loss, size, weight and cost.
Tuning-Free Waveguide Filter
Dfine Technology’s new waveguide filter, JDWHF128133, is designed to be high reliability especially in vibration-heavy environments. It covers a frequency range of 12.80 to 13.30 GHz with low insertion loss at 0.22 dB and power at 40 W. Alloy junction is used to reduce weight to only 100 g and no tuning screws are needed on the filter.
Digital pre-distortion (DPD), anti-aliasing filters from Sangshin Elecom improve system performance. 400, 360 and 300 MHz bandwidths are available for all popular cellular frequencies. Insertion loss is < 3 dB and these filters handle up to 1 W CW. An interactive DPD product matrix is available to assist the selection of center frequency and bandwidth for specific applications.
RF filters for ADS-B, UAT and TCAS avionics applications are available from Sangshin Elecom. Accommodating the future of 4G/LTE small cells, RFHIC introduces RTH series (Asymmetrical Doherty configurations) and HT series (cascaded) amplifiers fabricated using an advanced high power density GaN semiconductor process. This high performance amplifier achieves high efficiency and powers of 5 to 10 W, while covering typical telecom LTE frequency ranges such as from 2610 to 2690 MHz. These power amps are packaged in a very small form-factor on AIN (aluminum nitride) board which provides excellent thermal dissipation.
As the 2.4 GHz spectrum is getting saturated, the demand of using 5.8 GHz spectrum for Wi-Fi has exploded. RFHIC has a perfect solution: the HS5758-10A amplifier has 18.5 dB of gain and 41 dBm of typical Psat with a drain efficiency of 45 percent. The incredibly small size is only 20.5 × 15 × 4.8 mm, and the cost is even smaller. Lower than a comparable GaAs solution, the HS5758-10A is the ideal amplifier for Wi-Fi applications.
HM0220-05A is a wideband power amplifier designed for general continuous-wave applications. Using an advanced GaN semiconductor process, this high-performance 5 W (typical) amplifier achieves PAE of 30 percent minimum over a large instantaneous bandwidth. This new GaN hybrid IC is 50 Ω input/output matched packaged in a very small form factor (20.5 × 10 × 2.3 mm) AIN board that provides excellent thermal dissipation. The AV1443 vector signal generator has a wide frequency range of 250 kHz to 44 GHz and excellent vector modulation signal: EVM (% RMS) < 2.5% (Symbol Rate 4 MHz), Origin Offset < -40 dBc. The wideband vector modulation signal output is 80 MHz (internal baseband) and 160 MHz (external I/Q). The external wideband I/Q input modulation function supports external arbitrary waveform from generator of 500 MHz modulated bandwidth.
