Richardson RFPD Inc. announces immediate availability and full design support capabilities for a new Automotive Electronics Council (AEC) Q100-certified SPDT RF switch from Peregrine Semiconductor Corp. (Peregrine).

The PE42359 is developed on Peregrine's patented UltraCMOS® technology and is designed to cover a broad range of applications from 10 to 3000 MHz. This reflective switch integrates on-board CMOS control logic with a low voltage CMOS-compatible control interface, and can be controlled using either single-pin or complementary control inputs. Using a nominal +3-volt power supply voltage, a typical input 1 dB compression point of +33.5 dBm can be achieved. The PE42359 also meets the quality and performance standards for automotive applications and has received AEC-Q100 Grade 2 certification, with operation up to +105 degrees Celsius.

The switch is available in a miniature 6-lead SC-70 package and is appropriate for automotive applications such as Remote Keyless Entry (RKE), emergency communication systems, Tire-Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS), automotive multimode compenser modules, and automatic toll systems.

Additional key features of the PE42359 include:

  • HaRP™-enhanced UltraCMOS® device
  • High linearity: +55 dBm IIP3
  • Low insertion loss: 0.35 dB @ 1 GHz
  • High RF1/RF2 isolation: 35 dB @ 1 GHz
  • Power handling: +33.5 dBm @ 1 GHz
