As a leading T&M company, Rohde & Schwarz is dedicated to enabling research, development, manufacturing and operation of all kinds of RF and microwave applications by providing test and measurement solutions. As the demand for higher frequencies increases, the company is continuously expanding its product portfolio into these frequency ranges. To be in a position to better serve the demands of R&D as well as all the other areas, the networking of microwave scientists and engineers is paramount. It is essential for everyone in our community to exchange information, thoughts and views, and to cooperate in areas of mutual interest.

This is why European Microwave Week is important for us not only to showcase our products, services and innovations, but also to exchange information with scientific leaders, gain insight into developments and evaluate the future prospects of the market. By hosting four microwave conferences and the European Microwave Exhibition, the Week is the most important and largest European event in the field of RF/microwave technology. Also, on a global scale, it is among a very small number of major events in this sector.

So, as EuMW approaches what are the challenges facing Rohde & Schwarz and the RF & microwaves industry? Importantly, the result of the ever increasing demand for communications and mobility is the need for higher data rates and volumes. And, due to the limited number of available frequency channels, there is a need for higher frequencies and improved spectral efficiency. Of course, the expectation is that all of this be accomplished at lower costs. We expect these factors to continue to drive RF/microwave technology and to be issues that will be to the fore at European Microwave Week.

As for Rohde & Schwarz we will contribute to the exhibition with leading test and measurement solutions in the following areas: signal generation, signal and spectrum analysis for wireless and other RF/microwave standards, vector network analysis, EMC measurements as well as calibration and power measurement. In particular visitors to Stand 501/503 can see the new R&S ZVA40 vector network analyzer, the R&S FSUP signal source analyzer, the high-end R&S SMA100A signal generator and the new R&S ESU EMI test receiver. Last but not least, the company will present reliable and standard-compliant measurement solutions for WiMAX applications.
