I love March. Residing in New England, it means that we’re on the back-side of winter and better weather is (finally) on the horizon. It’s also “March Madness” month for NCAA Men’s Basketball, when I traditionally get bounced from my office pool by the end of day one. And it features several industry events, including Satellite 2013 in Washington, DC and the debut of EDI CON China, taking place next week in Beijing. As EDI CON is a Horizon House/Microwave Journal production, I’ll be travelling to China with many of my co-workers to help organize this exciting new venture. I look forward to seeing some of you there.

By mid-March, we’ll be closing the April issue of Microwave Journal. This issue features our annual “Amplifiers and Oscillators” editorial focus with some very interesting articles, products and special reports. The deadline to book ad space is March 12th, with ad material due by March 15th. The issue will have bonus distribution at CTIA Wireless in Las Vegas, with hundreds of copies distributed through the literature bins and in the RF/Microwave Pavilion on the show floor.

Microwave Journal partners with CTIA Wireless for the 5th straight year in organizing the RF/Microwave Zone, a dedicated pavilion on the exhibition floor. This pavilion congregates companies in the RF/microwave field in one location, providing easy access for attendees searching for wireless components and solutions. It’s a turn-key booth package, providing shell scheme with carpeting, furniture, electricity and daily cleaning. There’s a separate exhibitor lounge within the Zone to entertain clients and MWJ and CTIA promote the pavilion to hundreds of thousands of wireless professionals. There are still a few booths available, so contact your sales representative or Kristen if interested.

As I mentioned earlier, MWJ will be walking the aisles of Satellite 2013 later this month, so contact editor David Vye to arrange a press briefing or Mike Hallman to discuss marketing strategy. Mike will also be representing MWJ at the WAMICON event in Orlando, Florida in early April. International editor Richard Mumford will be in Paris the same week, meeting with exhibitors at the Microwave & RF event. By that time, the snow will be gone, the flowers will be blooming and we’ll be hard at work on our May IMS show issue. More on that next time…
