RFMD to showcase industry-leading products and technologies at MWC 2013

RF Micro Devices Inc., a global leader in the design and manufacture of high-performance radio frequency solutions, announced the company will present its expanding portfolio of industry-leading radio frequency (RF) components for smartphones, tablets and other data-centric mobile devices at the 2013 Mobile World Congress (MWC 2013), to be held February 25 to February 27, 2013 in Barcelona, Spain.

The products to be highlighted by RFMD at MWC 2013 will include its rapidly growing portfolio of high-performance 4G LTE solutions, including PowerSmart® multimode multi-band (MMMB) power amplifiers, ultra-high efficiency single-band power amplifiers, discrete switch-based products, antenna control solutions, and complete RF reference design platforms.

RFMD anticipates growth in RF components for 4G LTE devices to outpace smartphone unit growth, with the increasing adoption of new RF technologies, including envelope tracking, carrier aggregation, and antenna tuning. RFMD has established clear market leadership in these next-generation RF technologies and is broadly engaged with the leading smartphone manufacturers and chipset providers to enable widespread consumer adoption.

RFMD's product portfolio for smartphones, tablets and other data-centric mobile devices encompasses PA- and switch-based products for 4G LTE, TD-SCDMA, WCDMA, 2G/EDGE, and WiFi applications. RFMD also offers a broad portfolio of wireless infrastructure products, including ultra-high efficiency broadband GaN power amplifiers for 3G/4G LTE base stations.
