The broadband synthesizer incorporates some unique features in order to achieve the high performance levels achieved. Incorporation of fundamental Voltage Controlled Oscillators, operating well above traditional VCO frequencies, allows the unit to incorporate less frequency multiplication to achieve the full performance frequency range, therefore the phase noise experiences less degradation through the signal generation process.

Additional critical performance specifications include:

  • Tuning Speed: 50 μs maximum
  • Minimum Frequency Step Size: 1 MHz
  • Single and Double PLL Configurations Available
  • Sized to fit a 6U dual slot configuration
  • Broad Operating Temperature Range: -40°C to +85°C
  • High-speed Parallel Digital Tuning Command: 10 Bits
  • Spurious and Sub-Harmonic Content: -60 dBc maximum
