Miniature VNA Modules Simplify Pedestal Requirements
OML introduces miniature VNA modules for characterizing millimeter wave antennas in the waveguide bands from 50 GHz to 0.5 THz. The target applications for these VNA modules are in emerging wireless communication, aerospace & defense and general purpose markets. These VNA modules are compatible with modern network analyzers, including industry-leading antenna characterization solutions from Nearfield Systems, Inc. (NSI).
A variable-positioning pedestal is essential in a typical antenna range to reveal antenna characterization terms of gain, polarization and antenna pattern for both near- and far-field operation. By reducing size, OML simplifies the pedestal requirements and enables more compact range design for characterizing emerging antennas. In addition, more attractive mechanical and thermal mounting techniques improve reliability of the overall deployment.
With these new VNA modules, engineers can further optimize pedestal requirements using 50% smaller modules (size, weight), which translates into more reliable, economical and compact antenna ranges. The waveguide flange interface is compatible with MIL-DTL-3922/67D. These VNA modules from OML are available in eco-friendly RoHS compliant variants for WR-10, WR-05, WR-03 and WR-02.2.
