Aeroflex Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Aeroflex Holding Corp. announced that the Aeroflex TM500 LTE Test Mobile supports the ZUC encryption algorithm to ensure the security of user data. In the ZUC encryption algorithm test of TDD-LTE Stage-II large scale trial of the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Aeroflex TM500 LTE Test Mobile tested and verified the eNodeB produced by the first Chinese manufacturer.

ZUC is a Chinese-written encryption algorithm that passed 3GPP plenary meeting in September 2011 and officially became the third encryption algorithm of LTE.

"The ZUC algorithm provides robust protection of user data in LTE mobile devices," said Ngwa Shusina, Product Manager, Aeroflex. "By making the TM500 the first test mobile on the market to support ZUC for evaluation purposes, we are able to give both eNodeB vendors and test organizations a head start in this important technology."
