Comtech awarded $1.3M contract for high-power Klystron amplifiers

Comtech Telecommunications Corp. announced that its Santa Clara, California-based subsidiary, Comtech Xicom Technology Inc. has been awarded a contract totaling more than $1.3 million from a major system integrator to supply klystron power amplifiers (KPA). The KPAs will be deployed internationally to relay military satellite communications (MILSATCOM) to facilities in the United States.

The Comtech Xicom KPAs are uniquely designed for this application. They provide kilowatts of L-Band output power and feature Comtech Xicom’s new full-color LCD touch screen front panel display to configure and monitor the amplifier’s performance.

Fred Kornberg, president and chief executive officer of Comtech Telecommunications Corp., stated, “We continue to push the frontiers of amplifier technology. We are pleased with our product’s performance and our government customer continues to expand its system incorporating our high-quality amplifier products.”
