EM-based Componen and Circuit Design Software

This version 6.2 of LINMIC is a microwave/ RF IC design suite that has revised the active device modeling for ease of use and for parameter extraction including detailed control of model quality. Aside of lumped device modeling, now MESFETs/HEMTs/MOSFETs can also be modeled as geometric/distributed entities. These distributed transistor models can then also be used for harmonic balance simulation and, in addition to standard results like power levels and dynamic loadlines, the voltages and currents along the transistor fingers can be visualized. For the simulation of nonlinear circuits with complex input signals, envelope simulation has been added and many specific improvements and amendments suggested by users have been implemented. All GUIs have been revised for further improving the ease and convenience of use.

EM Test Generator

The model OCS500M/6 is an EM test generator for testing immunity to oscillatory transient waveforms, such as ringwave and damped oscillatory. The EM test OCS500M/6 is a compact solution that generates ringwave pulses up to 6 kV to also comply with the ANSI/IEEE C62.41 requirements. The two damped oscillatory waves, with 100 kHz and 1 MHz frequency, require test voltages up to 2.5 kV. The damped oscillatory waves not only comply with IEC 61000-4-12 requirements, but also correspond with the requirements to test protective relays and relay systems as per ANSI/IEEE C39.70. This generator offers the capability to perform magnetic tests as per IEC 61000-4-10, using a magnetic field coil. RF Combiner Module

The model 3060 RF combiner module is designed specifically for RF component and radio terminal system test. Frequency Converter

The model FCN4760 is a frequency converter that can be used with the Spectrum Master™ MS2711D to conduct highly accurate interference analysis measurements on IEEE 802.11a networks. SOC Test Solution

This RF SOC test solution tests, in quad-site, all devices in a wireless radio for all wireless applications. MMICAD Design Software Upgrade

This recent release is an upgrade to the MMICAD suite of CAE/CAT software used for design, test and modeling of RF, wireless and microwave circuits. The 3.1 upgrade adds a new integrated schematic entry capability to the MMICAD linear circuit simulator and introduces neural network models. To help reduce time-to-market, the MMICAD linear simulator has a dedicated built-in schematic entry capability. An elements tab listing loaded libraries has been introduced to help with the placement of schematic symbols. Element libraries can now be created and loaded by the user. Commonly used schematic commands are available on the newly added schematic toolbar.

On-wafer Device Characterization Solution

Isolator Assembly

The model YUL620-2 is a dual-channel ten junction isolator assembly that is designed to facilitate the IMD testing of communications equipment. Software Option

The release of the software option for the GPS7500 noise and interference generators delivers both forward, reverse and a unique forth/back frequency sweep over the entire 40 MHz output bandwidth at any of the L1 and optionally L2 or L5, GPS test frequencies. The software can provide swept frequency signals at any of the output power levels from –126.5 to +21 dBm of the GPS7500. The software allows designers to set specific CW sweep parameters such as output power, start frequency, stop frequency, sweep duration and sweep type. Frequency, Phase and Phase Noise Measurement System

This A7 frequency and phase comparator has been redesigned using new circuit technologies to achieve better resolution of frequency and phase differences between highly stable oscillators and frequency standards at lower noise levels. The A7-M (metrology) can resolve Df to 1¥10-15 in 100 second gate times. Phase noise can also be calculated up to 0.01 Hz from the carrier at low levels. The A7 combines the production-oriented capability of rapidly adjusting a source within a certain tolerance using the panel meter, along with metrology capability of a full time domain analysis of a source or passive component through data acquisition from the frequency center.

Software Options

These two software options complement both the signal analyzers of its FSQ series as well as the FSU and FSP spectrum analyzers, making the instruments especially suitable for use in development and production. The FS-K74 option adds high speed downlink packet access (HSDPA) to the analyzers’ WCDMA applications using high measurement speed. HSDPA signals are designed to increase the WCDMA data throughput in the future. The second option, FS-K76, can perform measurements according to the time division-synchronous code division multiple access (TD-SCDMA). Measurements of the peak code domain power and modulation accuracy can be performed in the same way as with WCDMA and cdma2000 signals.

Test Probe

The model 44RF probe is ideal for testing ground and signal contacts on high frequency hybrid and integrated circuits. The probe’s return loss can be increased by the addition of internal loss. It is designed for use with standard manipulators and cables for fast accurate positioning of the probe tips. Zero-bias Diode Detector

The model DZM020BB zero-bias Schottky diode detector is a power monitor for RF and wireless application. It has a BNC male input connector and a BNC female output. The detector has good flat frequency response of ±0.3 dB over 100 kHz to 2 GHz and matched input with good VSWR of 1.3. It is ideal for lab testing, power monitoring and circuit leveling. Surface-mount Filters

This IB60 series of filters is built using microminiature packages, with the addition of gullwing pins and ground tabs for surface-mount applications. This initiative is to accommodate the increasing need for parts to be installed using surface-mount techniques. Digital Bandpass Filter

This standard digitally controlled bandpass filter is available with 3 or 5 sections in the frequency range of 25 to 3000 MHz. The typical insertion loss at center frequency ranges from 0.7 to 1.0 dB and standard tuners have a 3 dB passband bandwidth of 5 percent. Digitally controlled bandreject filters are also available. Standard bandreject filters have 3 or 5 sections with a center frequency between 25 to 2200 MHz and a notch depth of 50 to 75 dB. The rejection bandwidth is typically 1 percent. Spiral Inductor Chip

This MMI 300 series of spiral inductor chips is a result of increased in-house metallization and masking capabilities. These spiral chips offer as many as 17.5 turns and inductance values reaching 100 nH. This series is a good alternative to staking coils. They are dimensionally uniform and each coil is a planar solid structure. Multi-port Switches

Chip Isolators

This range of SMD isolators is a series of microwave components for the digital personal mobile radio market. 23 GHz Diplexer

This low cost E-plane diplexer is an integration of two 8-cavity rectangular waveguide filters, a T-junction, an 8-section low pass filter and a 90° twist. This diplexer is suitable for radio links and exhibits good characteristics. Power Amplifier Module

The RMPA1965 3 V is a power amplifier module for CDMA and CDMA2000-1X personal communications system applications. This two-stage amplifier, which operates in the 1850 to 1910 MHz frequency range, is an InGaP heterojunction bipolar transistor device and is internally matched to 50 W to minimize the use of external components. The unit features a single positive-supply operation and low power/shutdown modes, while affording good linearity and high power-added efficiency. Detector Log Video Amplifiers

This line of detector log video amplifiers is available in both 40/45 dB and 70 dB models with a variety of available packages and capabilities. High Power Amplifier

The model PHC447-700 is a 700 W pulsed high power amplifier that uses class C bias to achieve high efficiency. This series of patented silver-filled organic adhesives, designated as DM6030Hk, has thermal properties used to attach high power devices. Thermal conductivities as high as 60 W/mK and electrical resistivities as low as 6 mW-cm are achieved, generating a thermal resistance (Kcm2/W) of Au/Sn solder in customer applications. The DM6030Hk pastes require no plating of components, no flux or non-oxidizing atmosphere, have minimal voiding in the bondline, and is Pb-free in composition. Additionally, the optional lower processing temperatures of 175°C or less allows the use of lower cost plastic packages. The DM6030Hk products can be shipped and stored in jars at room temperature or packaged in frozen syringes.

Phase-locked Crystal Oscillators

This PLXO series of phase-locked crystal oscillators offers outputs from 5 to 400 MHz for use as sampling clocks for D-A/A-D converters, reference clocks for next generation DDS and clock synchronizers for SONET/SDH/DSP applications. PLXOs are good phase-locked sources used to clean-up signals for remotely-located reference oscillators such as GPS. Available in 1.0" x 1.0" x 0.25" SMT packages, PLXOs lock to any specified 2 to 50 MHz external reference, provide +7 dBm or CMOS outputs, exhibit –120 dBc/Hz at 1 kHz, and –135 dBc/Hz 10 kHz offsets at 70 MHz output. C-band Frequency Synthesizer

This C-band synthesizer offers 125 kHz or 1 kHz steps, up to 1.5 GHz bandwidth and an integrated PLDRO that requires only 6 W of DC power. Typical frequencies are: 4.5 to 5.5 GHz, 5.1 to 5.7 GHz, 6.5 to 7.6 GHz and 7.2 to 7.7 GHz. In order to meet tough applications, this synthesizer offers a phase noise of –110 dBc offset 100 kHz from 2.5 GHz as well as guaranteed zero phase hits over temperature. Low Noise Calibration Source

The model CS-K low noise COLFET calibration source calibrates K-band radiometers. A small waveguide-output source (K-connector optional) radiates 33 to 60 Kelvins over 20 to 24 GHz when biased by +8 VDC, 100 mA maximum. The CS-K operates at room temperature so no cooling is required. Its integral voltage regulator ensures the constant noise-temperature output and can also be TTL controlled. Also available are high temperature output noise sources providing ~20 dB ENR when biased.

Voltage-controlled Oscillator

The model CRO3120A is a voltage-controlled oscillator that utilizes a ceramic coaxial resonator. The model operates at 3120 MHz and offers good phase noise at –114 dBc/Hz at 10 kHz offset. With low tuning sensitivity of 7 MHz/V, this oscillator offers minimal susceptibility to pushing and pulling: < 0.5 MHz/V pushing and < 0.5 MHz/V pulling. The CRO3120A is primarily used in the point-to-point wireless radio industry and is designed for harsh environments and can withstand temperature fluctuations from –55° to +85°C. L-band Matrix

The model 13853 is a 16 x 16 non-blocking matrix. This matrix can be used to connect up to sixteen LNBs to up to sixteen satellite receivers in any combination through rear panel F type connectors, while supplying a DC feed to the amplifiers. The non-blocking feature allows multiple receivers to connect to one LNB. The system can also combine multiple inputs into one output. The unit mounts in a standard 19" equipment rack. Chassis slides are provided for mounting. Switch Modules

This SVM family of VME-based switches address power, DC signal and RF applications.
