Mimix Broadband, Inc. introduces 3.5 to 6 GHz 3 W power amplifier module. Highly linear XP1044-QL PAM delivers 18.5 dB gain and 48 dBm OIP3.

Houston, Texas - April 9, 2010 - Mimix Broadband, Inc. introduces today a 3.5 to 6 GHz 3 W power amplifier module (PAM) housed in an RoHS-compliant, 7x7mm package. This highly linear 2-stage amplifier delivers 18.5 dB of gain and 34 dBm of power at 1 dB compression point.

Identified as XP1044-QL, this PAM provides less than 2.5% EVM at 26 dBm output power with 802.16 OFDM signal and peak to average ratio of 9.17 dB. The input and output of the device are internally pre-matched, facilitating a simplified input and output match. The XP1044-QL is designed for WiMAX applications between 4.9 and 5.9 GHz, and the performance can be shifted by adding external matching components to cover applications between 3.5 and 5.0 GHz.

"The XP1044-QL offers a high gain alternative to traditional discrete power FETs, and a higher linear power solution to available packaged MMICs, in this band," stated Amer Droubi, Product Line Manager, Mimix Broadband, Inc. "The high linear performance and broadband response make the XP1044-QL a good solution for WiMAX, Wi-Fi and public safety applications in the 4.9 to 5.9 GHz range, and with the addition of few matching components, can be extended down to 3.5 GHz."

The XP1044-QL is 100% RF and DC tested. Engineering samples and production quantities are available today from stock. Technical support is also available from Mimix's applications engineers at 281.988.4600.
