hmc-c070_100Hittite Launches First MicroSynth™ Integrated Synthesizer Module. Extremely Compact Hermetic Module features 24-Bit Step Size Resolution.

Hittite Microwave Corporation, the world class supplier of complete MMIC based solutions for communication & military markets, has introduced the HMC-C070 MicroSynth™ product, which is a fully integrated broadband synthesizer module. Operating from 5.5 to 10.5 GHz, the HMC-C070 MicroSynth™ delivers excellent phase noise performance, and is ideal for military radar, EW, ECM, test & measurement and lab instrumentation applications.

Combining high performance SiGe, GaAs pHEMT, and InGaP HBT technologies into a highly compact 1.36” x 0.75” hermetic package, the HMC-C070 MicroSynth™ delivers excellent phase noise performance of -117 dBc/Hz at 1 MHz, and features a hermetic package, which is significantly smaller than existing solutions. This broadband synthesizer also features auto and manually triggered sweep functions, making it a valuable building block for test and measurement applications. Typical output frequency range is 5.5 to 10.5 GHz with an average output power of +21 dBm, which is enough to drive two mixers. In fractional-N mode, the HMC-C070 MicroSynth™ can realize step sizes as low as 1.2 Hz, which is ideal for high performance frequency hopping communications systems. The HMC-C070 also features fully integrated low noise regulators and an output buffer amplifier which results in excellent ripple rejection and output power performance. Specified for -40°C to +85°C temperature operation, the module features field replaceable SMA connectors, and is designed to withstand harsh environmental conditions. This rugged module may be upscreened to meet higher military standards upon request.

The HMC-C070 MicroSynth™ complements Hittite's expanding line of frequency generation products which are available in die, SMT and connectorized module formats, with frequency coverage up to 46 GHz. All connectorized module products are available from stock and can be ordered via the company's e-commerce site or via direct purchase order.
