Hittite Releases I/Q Mixer/IRM for 10 to 16 GHz Microwave Radio & VSAT Applications. New I/Q Mixer is ideal as IRM or SSB Upconverter.

Chelmsford, MA, 9/24/09 – Hittite Microwave Corporation, the world class supplier of complete MMIC based solutions for communication & military markets, has introduced a new GaAs MMIC I/Q Mixer which is ideal for use as either an Image Reject Mixer or as a Single Sideband Upconverter in point-to-point and point-to-multi-point microwave radio, military & space and VSAT applications from 10 to 16 GHz.

The HMC775LC5 is a compact I/Q Mixer with internal LO amplifier which utilizes two standard Hittite double balanced mixer cells and a 90 degree hybrid, and is specified for operation from 10 to 16 GHz. This I/Q Mixer exhibits up to +25 dBm input IP3, and a wide IF bandwidth spanning DC to 3.5 GHz. Due to optimized balun structures, the HMC775LC5 provides excellent LO to RF isolation of 45 dB and excellent image rejection of 25 dB, making the device ideal for microwave radio and VSAT applications. Operating with LO drive levels of 0 dBm and low conversion loss of 8 dB, the HMC775LC5 is a highly effective space-saving alternative to hybrid style Image Reject Mixers and Single Sideband Upconverter assemblies.

Specified for operation from -40°C to +85°C,the HMC775LC5 is housed in a compact RoHS compliant leadless 5x5 mm ceramic SMT package, and requires only 114 mA from a +5V DC bias supply.

Samples and evaluation PC boards for all SMT packaged products are available from stock and can be ordered via the company's e-commerce site or via direct purchase order.
