Hittite Launches 6 High Speed Logic Circuits! Ideal for Broadband Instrumentation, Optical Systems, Radar, Frequency Synthesis & ATE.

Chelmsford, MA, 03/01/09 – Hittite Microwave Corporation, the world class supplier of complete MMIC based solutions for communication & military markets, has extended the high speed logic product line by releasing six new pin-compatible industry replacement high speed logic products which are also optimized for faster rise and fall times, lower jitter and lower DC power requirements. These six logic products provide operating clock rates up to 26 GHz, and are ideal for deployment in optical systems, ATE, broadband test and measurement equipment, frequency synthesis, and radar signal processing systems.

The HMC724LC3C is a 1:2 Fanout Buffer which serves as an alternate to Inphi’s 13616CF, while supporting data transmission rates up to 13 Gbps, and clock rates up to 13 GHz. All differential inputs and outputs are DC coupled and terminated on-chip with 50 Ohm resistors to ground. The outputs may be used in either single-ended or differential modes. The propagation delay is 110 ps, while typical rise and fall times are 19 and 18 ps respectively. The HMC724LC3C provides 2 ps of deterministic jitter and dissipates only 300 mW.

The HMC725LC3C is a XOR/XNOR gate function which serves as an alternate to Inphi’s 13610XR, while supporting data transmission rates up to 13 Gbps, and clock rates up to 13 GHz. The differential inputs to the HMC725LC3C are terminated with 50 Ohms to ground on-chip, and may be either AC or DC coupled. The differential outputs may be either AC or DC coupled. Propagation delay is typically 105 ps, while rise and fall times are 19 and 18 ps respectively. The HMC725LC3C provides 2 ps of deterministic jitter and dissipates only 230 mW.

The HMC726LC3C may be configured to provide AND, NAND, OR or NOR logic functions while serving as an alternate to Inphi’s 13612OR. The HMC726LC3C supports data transmission rates up to 13 Gbps, and clock frequencies up to 13 GHz. The differential inputs to the HMC726LC3C are terminated with 50 Ohms to ground on-chip, and may be either AC or DC coupled. The differential outputs may be either AC or DC coupled. The device exhibits a propagation delay of 95 ps, while typical rise and fall times are 19 and 18 ps respectively. The HMC726LC3C provides 2 ps of deterministic jitter and dissipates only 230 mW.

HMC727LC3C is a D-Type Flip Flop which serves as an alternate to Inphi’s 13600DF, while supporting data transmission rates up to 13 Gbps, and clock rates up to 13 GHz. The HMC727LC3C supports both positive and negative edge triggering and inputs to the device may be either AC or DC coupled. The differential outputs may be either AC or DC coupled. Propagation delay is typically 105 ps, while rise and fall times are 19 and 17 ps respectively. The HMC727LC3C provides 2 ps of deterministic jitter while dissipating only 260 mW.

The HMC728LC3C is a 2:1 Selector packaged in a 3x3 mm ceramic SMT, which serves as an alternate to Inphi’s 20708SE. The HMC728LC3C is designed to support data transmission rates up to 13 Gbps, and selector port operation up to 13 GHz. The Selector routes one of the two single-ended inputs to the differential output upon assertion of the appropriate select port. All single-ended input signals to the HMC728LC3C are terminated with 50 Ohms to ground on-chip, and may be either AC or DC coupled. The outputs may be operated either differentially or single-ended. Propagation delay is typically 125 ps, while rise and fall times are 17 and 15 ps respectively. The HMC728LC3C provides 2 ps of deterministic jitter while dissipating only 250 mW.

The HMC729LC3C is a T Flip Flop with reset capability which serves as an alternate to Inphi’s 13620TF. The HMC729LC3C is designed to support clock frequencies up to 26 GHz. Inputs signals to the HMC729LC3C are terminated with 50 Ohms to ground on-chip, and may be either AC or DC coupled. Propagation delay is typically 95 ps, while rise and fall times are 18 and 17 ps respectively. Ideal as a high speed frequency divider, the HMC729LC3C exhibits 2 ps of deterministic jitter while dissipating only 270 mW.

The HMC724LC3C, HMC725LC3C, HMC726LC3C, HMC727LC3C, HMC728LC3C, and the HMC729LC3C high speed logic devices are specified for operation from -40°C to +85°C, operate from a single -3.3V supply, and are housed in ceramic 3 x 3 mm SMT packages. Samples and evaluation boards are available from stock and can be ordered on-line. Released data sheets are available at www.hittite.com.
