Modelithics™ and American Technical Ceramics Corp. (ATC), a manufacturer of high performance electronic components, including capacitors and thin film circuits for a broad range of commercial and military applications, previously announced a collaboration to develop substrate-scalable models for a wide variety of ATC’s RF/microwave and Hi-Power passive components. The initial models will be made available starting in Q3 2006. These new Global Models™, which represent entire families of ATC components on a continuous range of common substrate types and thicknesses, can be requested from the following web site: http://www.modelithics.com/mvp/ATC/. Many of the new models come with additional features like pad scalability and horizontal/vertical orientation selection.

The models will be distributed and supported with future releases of the Modelithics CLR Library™. The CLR Library adds high accuracy RF/microwave component models to EDA software tools such as Agilent EEsof ADS, Applied Wave Research Microwave Office, Agilent Eagleware GENESYS and Ansoft Designer. Current Modelithics CLR Library customers on active Platinum Maintenance Support will receive the new ATC models for free.

Larry Dunleavy, president and CEO of Modelithics, stated, "We’ve enjoyed our collaboration with ATC developing these models and addressing the challenging problem of obtaining accurate and repeatable effective series resistance (ESR) measurements for low value/low ESR capacitors. The new ATC models represent the largest single addition of models to the Modelithics CLR Library and we are very excited to announce their completion through the strong collaboration we’ve established with ATC."
