February 29, 2008, Houston, Texas - Mimix Broadband, Inc. introduces today a driver and power amplifier pair offered in RoHS compliant, standard 3x3- and 4x4-millimeter QFN plastic packages, covering 12 to 16 GHz. This driver and power amplifier pair, identified as XP1042-QT and XP1043-QH respectively, delivers high performance and offers several unique features. The XP1042-QT driver amplifier provides +38 dBm OIP3, +25 dBm P1dB and 21 dB gain, while the XP1043-QH power amplifier achieves +41 dBm OIP3, +32 dBm Psat and 20 dB gain. The power amplifier also includes an on-chip temperature-compensated power detector and offers power and gain control through bias adjustment.

Both devices include on-chip ESD protection structures and DC by-pass capacitors to ease implementation and volume assembly. The devices also have BCB wafer coating to enhance ruggedness and repeatability of performance. The pair is ideal for wireless communications applications such as point-to-point radio, LMDS, SATCOM and VSAT applications.

"This compact pair of packaged QFN amplifiers offers exceptional linear performance and functionality to meet current and future demands for high capacity radios," stated Paul Beasly, Product Manager of Mimix Broadband, Inc. "The integrated power detector with more than 30 dB of dynamic range allows our customers to control the linear output power without needing to use a discrete attenuator, and this enhanced functionality simplifies the design requirements and lowers cost for transmit applications."

Mimix performs 100% RF testing on the XP1042-QT and XP1043-QH. Samples are available today from stock, along with production quantities. Technical support is also available from Mimix's applications engineers at 281.988.4600. The datasheets and additional product information can be obtained from the Mimix Broadband website at www.mimixbroadband.com.
