CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Test Capability Introduced by Anritsu Company

Anritsu Company introduces CDMA2000 1xEV-DO analysis capability for its MT8820B/MT8815B Radio Communication Analyzers that allow for faster and more efficient testing of Rev. 0 and Rev. A terminals. The MT8820B-005/MT8815B-005 1xEV-DO Measurement Hardware, MX882006C 1xEV-DO Measurement Software, MX882006C-002 1xEV-DO External Packet Data, and MX882006C-011 1xEV-DO Rev. A Measurement Software options enhance the testing capabilities of the MT8820B/MT8815B analyzers to provide manufacturers with a single-instrument test tool for conducting call-processing, RF Tx/Rx, and data transfer tests of 1xEV-DO terminals. With basic 1xEV-DO testing capabilities designed in the analyzers, the new options help to create a test solution that saves space and cost while also increasing manufacturing throughput of mobile devices utilizing 1xEV-DO technology. When the MT8820B/MT8815B-005 1xEV-DO Measurement Hardware and 1xEV-DO measurement software are installed in the MT8820B/MT8815B, call processing and RF Tx/Rx characteristics of CDMA2000 1X and 1xEV-DO terminals can be conducted quickly and efficiently. Three software packages have been developed for use with the measurement hardware. The MX882006C 1xEV-DO Measurement Software allows for testing of the call processing and RF Tx/Rx characteristics of terminals. It also can be used to measure call processing and voice call termination during data transfer and handoff from 1xEV-DO (Rev. 0) to CDMA2000 1X, when the analyzers are configured for hybrid mobile terminal analysis. For applications requiring only testing of a terminal's call processing and RF Tx/Rx characteristics, Anritsu has developed the MX882006C-11 Measurement Software. In addition, the MX882006C-002 1xEV-DO External Packet Data software is available to test the end-to-end data transfer between an application server and a client PC connected to a CDMA2000 1xEV-DO terminal. The application server can be connected directly to the MT8820B or remain on a LAN for these tests. As well as conducting CDMA2000 1xEV-DO measurements, the MT8820B/MT8815B verify performance of mobile terminals utilizing other technologies. Covering a frequency range of 30 MHz to 2.7 GHz, a single MT8820B can measure the major Tx and Rx characteristics of W-CDMA/HSDPA, GSM/GPRS/EGPRS, CDMA2000® 1X (IS-2000), TD-SCDMA, and PHS/ADVANCED PHS terminals. It has dual independent RF, AF, GPIB, and Ethernet connectors that can be controlled separately, significantly improving manufacturing efficiency by reducing production costs and space. It also features the Parallelphone(tm) measurement function that supports simultaneous testing of two mobile units, making the analyzer the perfect solution for mass production. The MT8815B is a multi-system service test platform that covers W-CDMA, GSM/GPRS/EGPRS, cdma2000® 1x/1xEV-DO, and AMPS with just one unit. This platform supports detailed failure diagnosis and evaluation of all the main mobile phone transmission/reception test items.
