Illustrating the global reach of the IMS, the InteractGlobal Inc. press conference brought together editors from across the globe, including a large contingent from China. Following the event, where they were introduced to what IMS 2006 has to offer, received a flavor of IMS 2007 in Honolulu and heard keynote speeches from sponsors, where they were fully armed to spread the Microwaves and RF word far and wide.

They also had the opportunity to network and talk technical with the sponsors of the event — W.L. Gore, RFMD, Freescale Semiconductor, Laird Technologies, Cascade Microtech and Peregrine Semiconductor Corp. — who were on hand to guide, support and interact.

The evening was kicked off with a presentation from Paul Khanna, technical program co-chair for IMS 2006 who gave a taste of what the San Francisco event has to offer, before outlining the key trends in technology that our industry is currently addressing. The press were invited to Honolulu next year to discover how these issues develop by Wan Phen, operations chair for IMS 2007. With the slogan — Gateway to Asia and the Pacific — he emphasized the event’s unique position for East to meet West and do business. Finally, Jim Norling of Freescale and Jim Cable of Peregrine Semiconductor gave keynote speeches identifying the challenges facing the industry and providing possible solutions.
