MD8430A LTE Signaling Tester and LTE Base Station Measurement Suite Recognized for Outstanding Innovation

January 22, 2010

Anritsu Company announces that its MD8430A Signaling Tester and its comprehensive LTE base station measurement suite have received 2009 4GWE Product of the Year Awards from Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC) and Crossfire Media. The awards, which recognize advances in 4G technology, is the latest honor for the MD8430A, which was one of the industry's first LTE base station simulator, and re-confirms Anritsu's commitment to the rollout of LTE.

"The MD8430A has set itself apart in the LTE test market. LTE chipset and mobile device manufacturers now have a cost-effective, highly accurate instrument to evaluate their products and improve time to market," said Wade Hulon, Vice President and General Manager of Anritsu Company, Americas Sales Region. "When you consider the MD8430A has also earned a CTIA Emerging Technology Award and is a finalist in Test & Measurement World's Best in Test award, it has clearly been recognized as one of the most innovative test instruments in the market."

"Our comprehensive LTE base station measurement suite is integral to the rollout of LTE," continued Hulon. "It allows field engineers and technicians to conduct tests necessary for the proper deployment, installation, and operation of LTE networks worldwide."

The MD8430A augments Anritsu's broad 4G test portfolio to offer wireless developers a single-source test solution company. The MD8430A provides test capability for protocol and application tests, including throughput, inter-RAT and intra-RAT, and is used as a building block for Anritsu's Conformance Test systems. Built-in 4-RF capability allows for testing of 2x2 MIMO handoffs and simulation of complex RF environments in a single instrument.

The LTE measurement suite is a set of optional measurement capabilities for Anritsu's industry leading MS272xB Spectrum Master™, and both the MT8222A and MT8221B BTS Master™ handheld analyzers. Tests for RF signal parameters, modulation quality, and Over-the-Air (OTA) scanning are included in the suite.

"On behalf of Crossfire Media, I extend congratulations to Anritsu for its advancement of 4G technologies. The entire wireless industry looks forward to more innovative solutions from Anritsu in the future," said Carl Ford, founder and community developer, Crossfire Media.

"4GWE is pleased to grant a 2009 Product of the Year Award to Anritsu for its MD8430A Signaling Tester. Anritsu has proven it is committed to quality and excellence while addressing real needs in the marketplace," said Rich Tehrani, CEO, TMC. "We're proud to honor Anritsu's accomplishments in the advancement of the 4G industry."
