Ex-Triquint Engineering Executive to lead M/A-COM Tech’s Engineering Initiatives

Lowell, MA, November 9, 2009 – M/A-COM Technology Solutions Inc. (M/A-COM Tech), a leading supplier of semiconductors, active and passive components and subassemblies for radio frequency (RF), microwave and millimeter wave applications, announced today that Michael (Mike) Murphy has joined the company as Vice President of Engineering reporting to Chief Executive Officer Joseph G. Thomas.

Mike will lead new technology and product development efforts for the company. He will have the lead in setting policy in many areas as well as R&D project tracking and reporting. Working with M/A-COM’s global technical community, Mike will play a key role in developing and executing on the company’s new product growth strategy.

Most recently Mike served as Vice President of Engineering of TriQuint Semiconductor’s Networks and Standard Products Business Unit. Prior to that Mike led TriQuint’s New England Design Center, which he initially launched for Infineon Technologies in 1999. TriQuint purchased the Infineon GaAs IC Business Unit in 2002. His early career included a 13-year tour with M/A-COM where in the late 90s as Product Line Manager he led an embryonic business and technical team in the development of RFICs for handset and WLAN applications that grew to more than $45 M in revenue in just a few years.
