Rogers' PORON Urethanes and BISCO Silicones Accelerate Automotive Engineering Designs

Rogers, CT – Rogers' High Performance Foams Division will be exhibiting its PORON Urethanes and BISCO Silicones at the upcoming International Suppliers Fair (IZB) in Wolfsburg, Germany, October 29-31, 2008 (Hall 5 – Stand 230).

PORON Urethanes and BISCO Silicones are two distinct foam chemistries providing solutions for many automotive applications.

Noted for their excellent compression-set resistance, PORON Urethanes are used to seal out water and dust, reduce noise, shock, vibration, and provide long-term gap filling in a broad range of automotive interior applications including cluster gauge gaskets, NVH/BSR pads, cup holders and more. PORON Urethanes are flame resistant, shock absorbing and provide excellent vibration isolation.

Used for air bag ignitor gaskets and heat shields, BISCO Silicones provide protection against extreme temperatures for automotive underhood applications. These materials are noted for their excellent performance in demanding and high-temperature environments. They can be used in areas needing increased protection against heat as electronics get more confined in the engine compartment.

Automotive design engineers have come to trust and rely on PORON and BISCO materials because of their consistent quality, excellent durability, superior resistance to compression set, low outgassing, shock absorption and vibration isolation and resistance to both high and low temperatures. Both materials meet all applicable industry and safety regulations.
