R&S FSU67: World's first spectrum analyzer from 20 Hz to 67 GHz from Rohde & Schwarz
Munich, 16 August 2007 — The R&S FSU67 from Rohde & Schwarz extends the upper frequency limit in spectrum analysis from 50 GHz to 67 GHz. This eliminates the need for external harmonic mixers. Featuring a continuous frequency range starting from 20 Hz, the R&S FSU67 also performs harmonics measurements in one go without requiring any modifications to the test setup. Other outstanding characteristics of the spectrum analyzer include high measurement accuracy without unwanted products, and excellent RF performance - features that will be appreciated in particular by developers and manufacturers of microwave components such as oscillators, short-haul microwave links in the range of 52 GHz or 58 GHz, local transport radio systems in the 60 GHz band, as well as aerospace & defense applications. Measurements above 50 GHz previously called for an external harmonic mixer in addition to the spectrum analyzer. Moreover, results needed to be corrected by the user, who had to identify and eliminate the multiple response signals introduced by the mixer. Using the R&S FSU67 spectrum analyzer from Rohde & Schwarz, you can now perform spectrum measurements such as harmonics or spurious measurements from 20 Hz to 67 GHz in a single sweep - without an external mixer. This solution, which is unparalleled worldwide, not only simplifies the test setup and operation. It also does away with external components and the associated cabling, thus eliminating potential errors right from the start and enhancing measurement accuracy. Compared with test setups that include external mixers, the R&S FSU67 also offers the benefit of a wider level range with a higher reference level. The R&S FSU67 features the same excellent RF performance characteristics as the other members of the R&S FSU spectrum analyzer family. Its noise floor is as low as -152 dBm (at 1 Hz bandwidth and 2 GHz) and -130 dBm (at 1 Hz bandwidth and 67 GHz). It offers a wide range of filter characteristics with resolution bandwidths from 1 Hz to 50 MHz, as well as comprehensive measurement functions for accurate power measurements even on broadband signals. The R&S FSU67 high-end spectrum analyzer is now available from Rohde & Schwarz.
