Chelmsford, MA, March 5, 2006 – Hittite Microwave Corporation, the world class supplier of complete MMIC based solutions for communication & military markets, has introduced its first MMIC 4-Bit Digital Phase Shifter standard product which is ideal for EW receivers, Radar, Satellite Communications, and Beamforming Subassemblies from 8 to 12 GHz. The HMC543LC4B is a 4-Bit Digital Phase Shifter which is rated for operation from 8 to 12 GHz, and provides 0 to 360 degrees of phase coverage with a LSB of 22.5 degrees. The HMC543LC4B provides a very low RMS phase error of 5 degrees and extremely low insertion loss variation of ± 0.8 dB across all phase states. This high accuracy phase shifter is controlled with complementary logic of 0/-3V, and requires no fixed bias voltage. Simple external level shifting circuitry can be used to convert a positive CMOS control voltage into complementary negative control signals. Housed in a compact, RoHS compliant 4 x 4 mm ceramic leadless SMT package, the HMC543LC4B is internally matched to 50 Ohms and requires no external components. The HMC543LC4B complements Hittite’s existing line of high performance Analog Phase Shifters which provide frequency coverage from 5 to 18 GHz. Additional Digital Phase Shifters will also be introduced in the coming months. Samples and evaluation PC boards for all SMT packaged products are available from stock and can be ordered via the company’s e-commerce site or via direct purchase order. Released data sheets are available on-line at www.hittite.com.
