Renaissance Electronics' switch division has received a significant follow-on award for a coaxial switch in support of the Electronic Warfare (EW) Radar Signal Simulator (RSS) AN/PLM-4 test simulator used by the US Air Force; the RSS is a portable, lightweight, flexible and cost-effective radar simulator that tests Radar Warning Receivers (RWR). The RSS is designed to test aircraft RWR detection and I.D. capabilities against hostile threats, and is customizable to perform a variety of different tasks; it is used on aircraft, helicopters, surface ships, submarines and land vehicles.
