Comtech Telecommunications Corp. announced that its Santa Clara, California-based subsidiary, Comtech Xicom Technology Inc., received a $1.7 M order for outdoor solid-state power amplifiers (SSPA) to be used in transportable fly-away satellite terminals for government satellite communications applications.

The award is for amplifiers of various power levels that operate in C-band, X-band or Ku-band. The terminals are expected to provide in-theater global satellite communications connectivity for the US armed forces.

Fred Kornberg, President and Chief Executive Officer of Comtech Telecommunications Corp., said, "This order reflects the sustained demand for high power solid-state amplifiers capable of outdoor use for government satellite communications. Comtech Xicom Technology continues to lead the way with light-weight and durable SSPA designs."
