Provigent, a provider of System-on-a-Chip (SoC) solutions for the broadband wireless transmission market, announced the development of a 4G backhaul SoC solution for microwave systems. The new solution will enable wireless backhaul systems to support the demanding requirements of 4G backhaul networks.

Provigent’s new SoC will enable point-to-point microwave systems to support 4G mobile backhaul requirements as outlined by the Next Generation Mobile Networks (NGMN) Alliance. The developed SoC will provide higher capacities necessary for the constantly increasing mobile traffic. In addition, the SoC will feature new networking functionalities needed for packet transport networks. Provigent’s next-generation SoC will provide enhanced performances and advanced capabilities together with a new level of silicon integration which will minimize the physical footprint and reduce power consumption.

“4G backhaul requirements pose new challenges for system and chip developers alike,” said Dan Charash, CEO of Provigent. “Provigent continues to focus on developing SoC solutions that meet the evolving market requirements and provide real benefit to our customers. We plan to continuously push the functionality and performance envelope thus strengthening our offering and solidifying our technological leadership.”
